I have notice all recipes are for a number of portion but I’m cooking for myself. Can this soup be frozen?
Hi, Daddo. This recipe can indeed be frozen. In addition, you can reduce the recipe by using this guide – http://www.trimdownclub.com/reducing-the-size-of-recipes.
Love this added parsley dill and a bayleaf also some celery.. DelisH
Yummo… just made this. Lets hope it freezers well
Just cooked this for tea looking forward to trying it
Hi, dmchatt. Yes, of course! If you still want a peppery taste, you can add sweet paprika instead.
I was looking for this question. I have a puny tongue too. Thanks.
Hi This chicken soup sounds so good. Can I leave out the the red chili? I do not like anything spicy! Thank you
Hi, Vivienne. A cup of liquid is 240 ml and of pureed solid is generally 240 g, but dry items such as flours, nuts, and seeds are often 120 g/cup, while solid fruits and vegetables vary from about 40-150 g. Many of our recipes have both metric and imperial measurements, and you can see single food conversions here – http://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-lists.
Please could you tell me what is a cup measurement in either grams or mils?
Yummy! Add the lime in your bowl if u like lime. I did several things wrong- needed 2 attempts. My errors- do cook noodles separately, they become mush in your broth. 1.5 cups of cooked noodles is about a quarter diameter of dry noodle product (not half a a bag) well those were the 2. It will be quick next time, as I know to get pasta going in parallel to broth. Then cut chicken, and get it boiling separate too. 3 pot meal but great after combined.
even nicer with a handful of fresh chopped coriander and juice of one lime in the soup bowl before serving, also make your own chicken stock and open freeze the cooked chicken pieces for use in recipes like this and the cashew chicken wraps.
Yes, the egg can be left at one.
A little tricky to use just 1/2 an egg to get fewer servings. Can the egg just be left @ 1?
Made this last night, quite apprehensive about adding the egg at the last minute but did anyway. It was wonderful! Unfortunately I didn’t have the chili or ginger to add but will make sure I do next time. Will probably be even better 🙂
Hello, I just tried this and it taste great!!!!!
want to try all these recipes but have to find all the ingredient. Only have HEB and Wal-Mart in this small town. (LOL)
Hi, Margaret. Thank you for pointing out the omission. The recipe has been updated.
Hi, DonnaSimpson. Yes – any healthy pasta (or whole grain) will do here.
Hi, Sheila. The idea is to discard the excess saturated fat that boils off.
Hi, Olivia44. Absolutely! One healthy oil is as good as the other, and it all comes down to the flavor you like best.
Can I substitute olive oil for the avocado oil?
Can I ask why do we have to boil the chicken breast first? Why can’t we boil it in the chicken stock at the beginning of the method?
Hi to all. Any type of whole grain noodle will do – the point is to avoid refined products. Any sort of chili pepper will do, as well – they are all a source of capsaicin, a beneficial antioxidant.
Regarding extra vegetables, it is just a serving suggestion and more vegetables are always recommended!
why does the picture of this soup show carrots when they are not in the ingredients?
What type of red chili should be used? When I was at the store there were dried red chilis and a Fresno red chili. I’m not sure either one is what you intended.
can you just use normal dried brown pasta or wholewheat dried pasta
Hi, MissFleur2003. Yes – you can definitely freeze this recipe.
can a make a batch of this and freeze it?
Hi, cldean. This recipe is actually quite easy to make crockpot-friendly – just put all raw ingredients in, and cook for 6-8 hours on high.
Hi, AimeeD. Of course, you can add all the free vegetables you want – the more the merrier!
Hi, Highlife. Brown rice pasta is pasta made from flour made from brown (whole) rice. It is found in health-oriented stores, and is increasingly found in regular supermarket as more and more people which to avoid wheat.
i would really apperciate receipes to be crockpot friendly
The picture looks like it includes carrots and tomatoes….I’m guessing its ok to add free vegetables??
What is brown rice pasta?
This is delicious. Took me longer than 10 minutes to prepare because I had to cook the noodles first. I certainly will make this again.
Hooray! Metric and spring onions! Thank you for helping the Europeans !
I would use a whole chicken and make the stock first…save the chicken, defeat the stock and continue with the soup..you will have enough chicken for the soup and another dish! I WILL make it that way and update! Ozzie says we are soon going to get nutritional analysis on recipes…that will be a bonus!
Stock is another term for broth.
What is a liter of chicken stock ???
