Can I do the recipe with wholegrain wheat flakes (unsweetened)? A bit easier for me to find… Is it the same with oats in carbs value? And sth else… I’ve seen the exchange table and it’s quite clear, as long as you know what is the “worth” of the food you want to exchange into. A bit difficult when you ‘re out and there’s no exchange button. For example it says that 1 carb= 15gr of carbs and up to 3gr of protein but I don’t know how many grams of carbs and/or proteins are there in oats or wheat flakes, so I’m a bit confused…
Hi, gougouki. Absolutely – as long as the grain is whole, you’re good to go. The carbohydrate value is about the same. To find out the quantity of carbohydrates in a food, take a look at the “Nutrition Facts” section of the label – it is all laid out.
This is a recipe with uncooked raw oatmeal? Sounds terrible.
Exactly my thoughts as well. Every other recipe for granola involves baking. What gives with this one?
Uncooked raw oatmeal is actually a common ingredient in muesli and raw granola cereals. It is fine when mixed with other ingredients.
Hi, welldun. No, leaving out the yogurt is fine. Just be sure to get your calcium elsewhere.
Must I have all ingredients for this to be a healthy recipe? i.e. yogurt.
I definitely try this Chockfull O’ Granola love it
This is great with yogurt or just as is. Very satisfing .
Hi, Hammy. Single exchanges of each are 6 oz / 180 g of yogurt and 1/4 cup / 30 g of granola.
I don’t use any sweetners and I have HEB Granola. How much of yogurt and granola should I be eating for breakfast?
Answers to some questions here:
1. To print, just select the text in question, copy, and paste into a word processing program – then print.
2. You can use any fruit you want – what is provided is just an example, with an emphasis on variety
3. The fruit amount for a single serving of 1/2 granola would be 1 tablespoon dried, and 3 tablespoons fresh.
4. Stevia is available in most grocery stores today, but if it isn’t in yours, then try a health-oriented shop. These include large chains such as Whole Foods Market and Trader Joe’s.
5. Alternatives to Stevia with less or no bitter taste include monk fruit sweetener (the same amount) or xylitol (1/4 cup). Splenda is not recommended here as it is artificial, which may ultimately work against your efforts here.
Sounds delicious but I can’t find raw milk so I use soy or almond milk (Non Gmo)
how do i print these menus and recipes?
Very good, and filling!
If I only want 1/2 c. Of this how much fruit do I put in and surely we don’t have to put in that variety of fruit? It would cost a fortune. Can we mix it up with what is in season?
Are there some guidelines?
is rolled oats porridge oats?
where would you get Stevia?
are rolled oats, oatmeal? you dont cook it at all?
Wow this has the most delicious ingredients I’ve ever seen in one breakfast recipe definitely won’t have trouble eating this thanks
I used the stevia and it ruined the granola. Now I have a waste of money I won’t eat. It has a bitter, wierd sweet taste permeating throughout! I think I could’ve eaten it without added sugar?
Can I use splenda instead of stevia?
