  1. i really like chocolate so i’m checking out those recipes and see ‘cocoa powder’ a lot. in this recipe i could understand it being unsweetened because powdered sugar is added but it also just says ‘cocoa powder’ to add to milk as a snack. if that was unsweetened it would be pretty bad. would you give a little more info on what cocoa powder is being referred to or an example? thanks!

  2. Hi, AMSRoger. It is a matter of controlling not only for pesticide residues (which are more concentrated in some foods), but also for certain processes that take place in common industrial agricultural practices that may work against healthy weight management. As for contamination, conventional foods are also not exempt, and the FDA is sadly understaffed in many areas (even medications and medical devices). You can read more about why organic may be preferable for some foods here: http://www.trimdownclub.com/when-to-go-organic.

  3. Why must some ingredients be organic? Organic means there is more danger from nature’s diseases such as E. coli and Salmonella. Not enough USDA organic inspectors to view all supposedly-organic products.
