I have issues with artificial sweeteners like aspartame and Splenda – I get terrible headaches from them. Will Stevia cause the same issues?
Hi, aepop2. Side effects like those you described are a major reason we discourage artificial sweeteners and encourage natural ones like Stevia. Stevia is not likely to cause you the same issues.
Hi I’ve just started the program, would I be able to use Watermelon instead as it’s the only melon I like?
Hi, Zoe17. Absolutely!
This is a incomplete recipe the liquid is missing also the picture is deceptive if you use yoghurt the outcome is different to the picture. This is a nice combination but you have to make it according to your taste I would say cucumber is strong so add sparingly.
Hi, Selina. The high moisture content of the ingredients ends up making enough liquid. No worries.
hi. I,m starting this tomorrow but I,m a bit confused with measurements e.g what is 1 cup of grapes in grams and what is 1 cup of cold cereal in grams, 3/4 cup green peas etc
Hi, Pixie. A cup is a volume measurement here – 240 ml.
Can you replace a meal with a protein shake made with vegetable protein powder?
Hi, Jwood44. We do prefer that your meals be from whole foods, but a vegetable-based protein powder is fine once in a while. What is the brand?
I use DoTerra Slim and Sassy Protein and DoTerra greens how do they fit into program? When is the best time to consume?
Hi, mloheed. Each serving of Slim and Sassy equals a protein exchange, and each serving of Greens equals a vegetable exchange. These are probably best as part of a snack between main meals.
I am lactose intolerant can you give me recipes to cope with this
Hi, Kathleen. Nearly all of our recipes are either dairy-free or have a dairy-free option – no worries 🙂 For your menus, be sure to check “Dairy-Free” in your profile.
I will try sourcing the ingredients tomorrow, there are a lot of interesting recipes, can’t wait to try, as you can tell I am a novice but keen.
Hi, Lccm1234. We actually don’t encourage use of agave because it can work against your efforts here, despite having a low glycemic index. You can read more about the sweeteners we recommend here: http://www.trimdownclub.com/the-best-way-to-sweeten-your-tea-2.
With regard to Greek yogurt substitutes, any high-quality plain yogurt (i.e., organic, pastured, and particularly with active cultures) will work. Modified corn starch and sucralose are not recommended in this program – the first is overly processed and the second is artificial. Sorry.
I don’t like the taste of plain Greek yogurt and l don’t like adding sweeteners; so l have been eating Yoplait Source 0% (35 calories for weight watchers). One of the ingredients is Modified corn starch and sucralose, are these ingredients good or bad for me. What is the next best option for greek yogurt.
Can l use Agave as a substitute of stevia?
I am trying this tomorrow. So far this programme is appearing very tempting. Only joined yesterday. Have copied a number of recipes, and am looking forward to new ideas that look as if they will work well.
Hi, Fieldway. Different foods have different weights for the same volume. In general, liquids and pureed foods (or foods with a similar texture) follow the 4 oz = 120 ml or gram rule, but solids can vary widely. No worries.
I am confused with what the equivalent of one cup is to English measurements of ounces and grammes. The recipe for cucumber and melon shake states that half a cup is 60 grammes but all the other recipes I followed state that half a cup is 4 ounnces which is 100 grammes. The measurements are so crucial to the programme that I am left feeling confused and dispondant…..help! 🙁
Hi, Luv2scrapbook. Those sweeteners are available at most grocery stores, either in the sugar or the dietetic section.
Stevia is very easy to find in the grocery store now. There are several varities and it comes in little green packs.
where do you get the Stevia or Monkfruit sweetener?
