  1. Hi, WarriorPower, and welcome. You don’t have to use any food with which you are uncomfortable – the lists are long to accommodate a wide range of users with varying tastes. Duck egg, for example, was added by popular demand (if you can believe it). Others were selected because they are not mass-produced and so are less manipulated and therefore more nutritious and supportive of weight loss. You can select whatever you want from the Menu Planner lists and avoid what you don’t, but we do encourage you to upgrade where you can – whole grains instead of refined, etc.

  2. Hi, sfrontela. Tomatoes and peppers contain more ‘available’ carbohydrates than ‘free’ vegetables. However, wherever you see ‘Vegetables of Your Choice’ in your menu, you can include a salad with whatever you wish, because it is counted.

  3. When I have small quantities of leftover veggies I’ll add them to the greens along with fresh veggies. Sometimes I’ll add a diced boiled egg, nuts or seeds, and maybe some leftover chicken or fish to make it a one dish meal.

  4. Adding a little fresh, finely chopped garlic (or a bit of garlic powder) to this dressing makes it tastier.
If you like the taste of garlic, you can put a few cloves into your oïl bottle so that your oïl is flavoured beforehand. Olive oïl is best.

  5. I’m new to this program and I’m having a little trouble navigating. What is the size of one serving of free veggie. I tried the “Serving size’ . It took me to another window… Still don’t know what a serving size of free veggie is. Does anyone know?

  6. I am allergic to lemons, is it ok to sub fresh orange juice? I have few more questions, is there another place to do that? Well for right now, when the menu says 1 natural waffle does that mean plain, no syrup? 1 egg, (how is it to be prepared?) 1 ounce of tuna, or salmon canned in water. Am I to eat it plain just like that? Is it ok to cook brown rice in vegtable stock instead of just water? I am trying to get my husband to eat this food, and he’s wanting to add this and that, so to compromise, I said I’d ask if I could cook it with stock. Thank you so much for your response.

  7. OKay, so I know this takes away from eating the vegetables raw, but I think it is delicious…heat a little evoo in a a skillet at garlic and brown, then add mushrooms. Let them cook until they start to release their liquids, then add spinach. Cover and let cook down, about 10 minutes…enjoy! All of the veggies (garlic, mushrooms and spinach) are on the list above so you can choose how much you want of each.
Happy eating and losing at the same time,
    Dory
