hi,
how do i add this recipe to my weekly menu as a dinner?
Hi, ymani100. If it isn’t yet in the swap list in your menu, you can still use it by right-sizing the portion according to the calorie amount. In the case of this recipe, 1/4 of it would be an appropriate portion for you – so you can either make 4 larger patties and have 1, or make 8 smaller patties and have two at your meal.
If I serve this over lettuce, can cheese be added what about salsa?
I was thinking of making it like a taco salad.
Hi, Kellylorin. You can substitute one of the tablespoons of olive oil for 1/4 cup of grated full-fat cheese plus 1/2 cup of salsa.
Can I substitute something in place of avacado? I do not like
Hi, Pmhenson1967. In this recipe, you can use 1/4 cup of cream cheese.
Question, can I substitute cooked cabbage for the romaine lettuce?
Hi, ArlanaB. Absolutely! That sounds fantastic – stuffed cabbage 🙂
Are the avocados in the chicken patties and served on the salad?
Hi, MollyDean. The avocado is blended into the patty.
Cant do any nuts flour due to kids allergies, whats the alternative?
Hi, Puro11. Could you do seed or coconut flours?
Good Morning: Can I replace chicken with turkey? What are the differences when you do this if any?
Hi, Kya1. Regular ground turkey tends to be fattier than chicken, so you can reduce the olive oil amount to 1 tablespoon.
Lean ground turkey (7%) could be a direct swap without adjustments.
What is the net carbs on this per serving
Hi, Cindy. Net carbohydrates per serving = 5.43 grams
What can I replace the avocado with? Not a fan…
Hi, Jwhitfield921. Instead of avocado, add an egg and 1/4 cup of heavy cream.
This is soooooo good…definitely my favorite lunch meal
How many patties in general account for 1 serving?
Hi, arunsankar82. Two (2) patties, or 1/3 of the recipe, account for 1 serving of this recipe.
I have two jobs can you tell me what’s the best one that’s already prepared that would be so easy for me
Hi, Pahawth0000. You could use something that you would find at a health-oriented store like Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods Market, or even Target or CostCo. For example: https://www.target.com/p/aidells-chicken-and-apple-burgers-4pk-12oz/-/A-52805661.
For keto, you will still need to cook each burger pair in 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and have them with 1/2 avocado as recommended in the recipe (per serving).
Can I use canned chopped chicken or does it have to fresh cooked?
Hi, bellstones. Fresh is preferable, as canned often contains industrial additives, but you can still used canned in a pinch (try to get an organic type, as they tend to be healthier). You can always cook the chicken in advance, then freeze sections for later use in recipes.
Do I eat all of this???
Hi, Nadiag19. No, just one serving at a time. This recipe makes 3 servings.
What can be used instead of almond flour?
Hi, lzbaker. Any other nut flour will do, as will sunflower or pumpkin seed flour.
Pretty darn delicious! The patty crumbled easily, but that was not a problem. The chunks of avocado were a treat. I added a little sea salt once plated. Also, added a few kosher dill spears on the side. I’m looking forward to reheating these so I can chow down on the remaining portions. My macros are perfect with these recipes!
