17g carbs per serving are A LOT for just one meal on Keto since I keep my carbs at 20g per day!
Hi, Clafflin. The 17 number is the total carbohydrates – available carbohydrates are much less. This particular recipe has more carbs because it includes a fruit/vegetable – that food group is essential, even on a keto plan.
Curious about tomatoes. Can I sub with spinach?
Hi, JamieHunter. Absolutely! You can substitute here with any non-starchy vegetable (or mushrooms).
I am just wondering why there is milk in recipes on Keto? I didn’t think we could have milk and that seems a lot of milk in this recipe?
Hi, Kiralea. Milk is rarely included in these recipes, but rather more so very-low-carbohydrate dairy because the fat content far exceeds the amount of carbohydrate+fat – essential for ketosis – so it is keto-supportive. In this recipe, the overall fat content is still very high.
How much is one serving?
Hi, Sunnyflower. The whole recipe is considered a serving, though you can use half for a lighter option.
The whole pie is one serving??
Hi, Breeshawn. It’s more like an omelette, but yes.
