This shake is a healthy take on a Bloody Mary cocktail, alcohol-free but just as flavorful and even more antioxidant-rich. It can also be heated to make a hearty soup.

    • Hi, Dssms111. Alcohol is definitely allowed as a treat in this program. To make it work, you can either substitute what you want for the corresponding exchanges in your menu (you can view them by clicking on “Exchange mode” in the toolbar above any of your current menus), or selecting them in the food lists in the personal version of the Menu Planner (you can access it by clicking on the “My Food Choices” icon in the toolbar above your menu), located in the “Beverages” subcategory of the “Carbohydrates” category.
The following equal 1 carb + 1 fat exchange:
Wine, Red, Dry ~ 4 fl oz or 120 ml
Wine, White, Dry ~ 4 fl oz or 120 ml
Beer or Ale, Light ~ 10 fl oz or 300 ml
Beer or Ale, Regular ~ 7 fl oz or 200 ml
Champagne ~ 4 fl oz or 120 ml
Liqueur, Sweet ~ 1 fl oz or 30 ml
Liquor, Unsweetened ~ 1.5 fl oz or 45 ml

  1. I love Bloody Marys, I love tomato juice. Why all the other ingredience. Can’t I just have a Virgin Mary using the organic tomato juice? As usual, everything in this eating program is complicated. Finding the ingredience and going through the preparations. I guess there is some chemical reaction with the combination of coliflower and the miso that causes the fat and weight to just flow off your body.

  2. I’ve only just got into Japanese cooking (couldn’t avoid it as my friend gave me a Japanese cookery book!). Miso is a fermented paste made from soya beans. Not exactly the sort of thing usually found in your local supermarket. It should just be mixed with water to make a broth. It is extremely salty, and I think a chicken cube mixed with water would probably do, although it would be lacking in what is a slightly different flavour.
