This shake is a healthy take on a Bloody Mary cocktail, alcohol-free but just as flavorful and even more antioxidant-rich. It can also be heated to make a hearty soup.

So no alcohol of any kind permitted?
Hi, Dssms111. Alcohol is definitely allowed as a treat in this program. To make it work, you can either substitute what you want for the corresponding exchanges in your menu (you can view them by clicking on “Exchange mode” in the toolbar above any of your current menus), or selecting them in the food lists in the personal version of the Menu Planner (you can access it by clicking on the “My Food Choices” icon in the toolbar above your menu), located in the “Beverages” subcategory of the “Carbohydrates” category.
The following equal 1 carb + 1 fat exchange:
Wine, Red, Dry ~ 4 fl oz or 120 ml
Wine, White, Dry ~ 4 fl oz or 120 ml
Beer or Ale, Light ~ 10 fl oz or 300 ml
Beer or Ale, Regular ~ 7 fl oz or 200 ml
Champagne ~ 4 fl oz or 120 ml
Liqueur, Sweet ~ 1 fl oz or 30 ml
Liquor, Unsweetened ~ 1.5 fl oz or 45 ml
How would broccoli go as a swap for cauliflower? Would it be too bitter? Can’t eat cauli.
Hi, Horabed. Broccoli would be fiee – it would add something of a “bite” to the flavor just as well as cauliflower.
I cant eat tomatoe
Hi, GillTyrrell. Miso is found in the Asian or specialty section of grocery stores such as Tesco and Sainsbury. It can be replaced by regular vegetable broth, too.
Where do you get miso broth from, can it be replaced by anything else.
Hi, Lynn. Some is and some isn’t – it is important to check the label.
it miso glutin free
Hi, Rileyfamily. Miso is associated with special health properties, but Worcestershire sauce is generally fine – just be sure to avoid any with high-fructose corn syrup.
Why tell us to use extra Worcestershire in place of the miso broth? Does the miso do anything special? If so I don’t want to replace it.
Hi, TellYou99. Here is a description: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miso_soup.
What is miso broth
Hi, jmott. Tomato juice from concentrate is actually OK – it tends to be better than other fruit juices from concentrate. Regarding the miso, a couple of drops of Worchestershire sauce can do the trick.
I can only find tomato juice from concentrate and I cant find Miso what should I replace it with?
Miso soup is available in Asda it’s in a small box and has 5 sachets in it.
Easy to make – especially for a first timer!. Let’s hope it’s tastes good too!
I’m just going to go with Tomato Juice , It is easier to find . Thanks apensa for asking the question, because you said exactly what I was thinking!
Does it HAVE to contain Miso?
I love Bloody Marys, I love tomato juice. Why all the other ingredience. Can’t I just have a Virgin Mary using the organic tomato juice? As usual, everything in this eating program is complicated. Finding the ingredience and going through the preparations. I guess there is some chemical reaction with the combination of coliflower and the miso that causes the fat and weight to just flow off your body.
Absolutely! The shake recipes are just here for people who like shakes. Organic tomato juice is great just by itself with the usual seasoning.
I’ve only just got into Japanese cooking (couldn’t avoid it as my friend gave me a Japanese cookery book!). Miso is a fermented paste made from soya beans. Not exactly the sort of thing usually found in your local supermarket. It should just be mixed with water to make a broth. It is extremely salty, and I think a chicken cube mixed with water would probably do, although it would be lacking in what is a slightly different flavour.
