3 eggs-is this one serving? For an entire meal?
Hi, slchambers1. Yes – 3 eggs for this recipe, which serves 1 for a meal.
I dont like cheese. Can I leave it out? Can I use canola oil instead of olive oil?
Hi, Keenlee. You can use canola oil instead of olive oil, no problem (if you can find organic and unrefined, that is ideal, but don’t stress about that).
Since cheese is an important contributor of protein and fat to this recipe, some adjustment will be necessary if you leave it out. Can you have some nuts on the side (2 tablespoons)? Half a cup of plain Greek yogurt?
Net carb 21?? How many carb she we have in a total day?
Hi, Selkins1. The net carbs here are 2. You can see your daily allottment by clicking on the “Macros” button above your menu.
I like creamer and sweetener in my coffee. What is acceptable to use? What are my options?
Thanks!
Hi, lagreenlee. Coconut milk beverage makes for a great whitener that doesn’t add up in calories too quickly, and for a sweetener, we recommend Stevia, monk fruit, erythritol, or a combination. We discourage anything artificial.
Hi, Can I you use Grape Seed oil to cook with, instead of Olive?
Hi, Clovan12. We don’t encourage grapeseed oil because it is very high in omega-6 fatty acids and can be more pro-inflammatory than olive oil.
Can I use butter in this rather than olive oil? While I love to use olive oil when I cook, I did not find it good for me in this recipe. I think I would like butter more.
Thanks!
Hi, lagreenlee. Sure. We would recommend that you find a “grass-fed” or “pastured” butter option for maximum health benefit, if you can.
Is there a smoothie that I could do in the mornings in place of the offered breakfast options on my menu plan? Sometimes not always time to make the breakfast and have loved to do the smoothie in the past. I would love a recipe I could replace any of the meals in a day in case I don’t have time to cook.
Thanks so much!
Hi, lagreenlee. Yes – try this one: https://www.trimdownclub.com/recipe/berries-and-spinach-smoothie/.
I would love to eat eggs, but eggs don’t like me. They make me sick. What could I use for substitution?
Hi, Prdmama6. Tofu makes for an excellent substitute that can fit within a keto plan.
Is unsweetened almond milk allowed on keto?
Hi, Birk711. Yes 🙂
What are the nutritional exchanges in this omelette?
Hi, JulieKSchaffner. The total calories and grams of protein, fat, and carbohydrates are near the top of the page. Those amounts translate to the following exchanges:
4.17 Protein + 0.15 Carb + 7 Fat
Are you allowed to use fat free creamer? I guess no artificial sweeteners right
Hi, Pkay158. We don’t encourage that. Not only does it contain overly processed ingredients, but the point of keto is to get in as much fat as possible.
I don’t/can’t eat cheese sour cream mayo. Is it okay to leave out the cheese of this omelette? Will I receive the same benefit w/o the cheese?
Hi, Courtneyd. It’s better to substitute it with something else. There are vegan versions of cheeses, if they suit you better, or you could try avocado in omelettes and scrambled egg dishes (avocado is a great sub for mayo, as is tahini mixed with vinegar).
I don’t have bacon or cheese can I not used them or subtatuit it for something or should I find a different breakfast
Hi, KimberlyDinh83. You can do either, if you wish. To substitute for bacon, you can use ham or sausage (preferably uncured), or even olives. For cheese, you can substitute sour cream.
I love milk with my breakfast. Can I drink fat free milk or orange juice?
Hi, MsKayo. Keto plans are based on being very high in fat, with very little carbohydrates. Because of that, fat-free milk and orange juice are not compatible. If you like milk, you can drink a mixture of 2/3 cup whole milk + 1/3 cup light cream, but that yields 250 calories, so you need to reduce the portion of the rest of your meal to compensate. To use this recipe as an example, you would make between 1/2-2/3 of it, favoring the higher fat ingredients:
2 eggs
1 slice of bacon
3/4 ounce cheddar cheese (3 tablespoons grated/shredded)
2 teaspoons olive oil
Salt to taste
Good morning, I just had this breakfast! What’s not to love!!!!!! May I have a cup of un-sweet tea with my breakfast?
Hi, Kimola. I’m glad you like it! Unsweetened tea is always a good idea!! 🙂
Awesome!!! How about the Clear American brand of flavored waters found at Walmart?
Hi, Kimola. Those are less recommended, as they contain an artificial sweetener that can work against your efforts here. I would recommend to make your own flavored water by steeping cut up or bruised fruit in regular or carbonated water like making tea (or squeezes of fresh lemon or lime, or even a drop or two of flavor extract), then adding a high-quality, natural, no-carb sweetener like Stevia and/or erythritol. You can get additional flavoring ideas from this article: https://www.trimdownclub.com/how-to-make-detox-water/.
Hey can i have this with bread and if ketchup?
Hi, Rajvir. Both ketchup and regular bread are high in carbohydrates and not considered to be keto-supportive, so special care should be taken with these. Up to a tablespoon (14-15 ml) of ketchup can be used with each serving of this recipe. With regard to bread, you can either buy keto bread or make your own (see our recipe here: https://www.trimdownclub.com/recipe/keto-coconut-flax-bread/), and for each ounce (28 grams, about a 1/4-inch or 1/2-cm slice), have 1/6 less of the main recipe.
How do I add this to my menu or save it so I can find it easier in the future.
Hi, Tevans312. We recommend designating a folder in your browser “Favorites” or “Bookmarks” and saving it there.
Can i use turkey sausage ?
Hi, Selithia. In this recipe, you can replace the bacon with 2 ounces of turkey sausage (about 1/4 cup crumbled). To make the recipe extra keto-supportive after the swap, I suggest to add 2 tablespoons of avocado OR 3 tablespoons of olives.
Can I use sea salt and or pink salt?
Hi, tocoolcowan. Absolutely!
Hi! Is there certain times meals should be eaten? And is there a a drink that we should be drinking- or what is best? I also would like to know if what is listed as a meal is what I am to eat only? Thanks
Hi, noahbaby. We recommend eating your first meal shortly after you rise for the day (unless you work out first thing, then you can have your first meal afterward, if you wish), then in the middle of the day, then when you return home from your day; you can add another snack between any of those meals, or later in the evening. Just be sure you’ve finished eating at least an hour before retiring for sleep.
What is listed are your primary meals, but you can add “free” vegetables, such as raw salad greens, cucumber, and celery.
Oh my gosh! My first day and this breakfast was so huge! I only used 2 eggs and the omelette was still ginormous! Im totally stoked to see if eating right on plan helps me lose. Ive tried everything else and if this works I will be so happy!!!
Hi, kbug, and welcome! We wish you much success here, and are happy to help however we can.
Working on wrapping my head around all this fat….but just loving the mental taste buds! Plan to test that omelet in the morning at breakfast. With this menu I’ll be eating all day? Not used to so much food…
Hi, Katwinkle. The keto menu has just three main meals plus one snack, no worries. If you need to cut the portions a little, that’s fine – just make sure it’s not a semi-starvation thing, and do try to get in the vegetables and dairy.
I would add broccoli & green onions to the omelette. I prefer microwave d bacon so it stays crispy. But I will try it your way & see if I like it too. I’m eager to learn. Thanks
I’m
Having bacon for my breakfast.. and for lunch… is this too much bacon in one day? Is it okay for me to intake that much fat?
Hi, Nadiag19. The keto diet is based on being mostly fat – so the total amount per day will be high, and that’s what will get you into ketosis. As for the bacon itself, we encourage you to use uncured bacon (without added artificial nitrites and nitrates), so that you can have more with less health risk. If you don’t want that much each day, you can click on any of the items and swap it for something else on the pop-up list.
Am loving this breakfast choices. I think am ready to go!!
How do I add this breakfast to my menu?
Hi, kmduff. You can swap it in for any other breakfast. Just be sure to add a green vegetable as a side.
Enjoyed, the delicious omelette this morning. This is the first day with my meal plan more precise. I ha already lost 10 pounds on the Keto plan. Was feeling I had somewhat stagnated, but now I feel ready to go on with this meal plan. ♥️
This is day one of my diet and I had this omelet with bacon and cheese and I love it. I also started taking Keto Max Slim and want to know if I can also take Keto Ultra Fat Burn as it says it helps with Appetite Control?
Hi, Jkornak. I believe one is an herbal type formula, and the other is based on hydroxybutyrate. If that is the case, then you can take them both. However, be sure to check the labels to make sure they don’t both contain caffeine!
Omg that look so good I cant wait to try it.
Yummy ?
