Can I use this shake to replace salad?
Hi, Carmen. Half a serving (1 cup) would replace salad + dressing.
I believe the notes for this recipe need to be updated. It says that a serving size is 1 cup and that it serves 1. This recipe actually makes 2 cups, so this should be updated to say it serves 2.
Hi, Lisa92185. Thanks for the heads up! It has been corrected.
Can i add 1 scoop mixology whey protein powder. I am vegetarian
Hi, Mjb123. Even if you are a vegetarian, the menus generated in this program provide plenty of protein. It is better that you get major nutrients from foods rather than powders.
Hi, rgs. You can discern the ratio by looking clicking on “Exchange view” in the toolbar above your menu. The exact ratio isn’t all that important – we emphasize more just making sure you get minimum servings of food groups and combine proteins with carbohydrates. However, if you’re interested, the ratio is about 1 gram each of protein and fat for each 3 grams of carbohydrates.
With regard to the fruit and dairy shake, we have quite a few of those recipes here, such as http://www.trimdownclub.com/recipe/morning-meal-sub-smoothie/.
Yes, you can use canned fish, but do try to avoid types preserved in oil, if you can.
Also what is the ratio I am looking for – protein, fats, dairy and so on? Where is that on the website?
I am new to this program and I am reading through my menu staring Monday. Where is the recipe for the shake with fruit and dairy? Also the menu looks great but I am cooking for one person-I have lobster and crab and clams on my menus – do I get fresh ? Or can I use canned? I want to make sure I have my pantry and refrigerator ready for Monday.
The strawberry and spinach shake recepe look fab, I can’t wait to try one.
Hi, 2Doyles. The strawberries are counted in the total carbohydrate count here.
The nutritional breakdown does not show fruit. I would think the strawberries should be counted as a fruit and shouldn’t the spinach be counted as a vegetable?
Good
Looks good, so I’ll try my first one in the morning.
Just started with Trim
club. Can’t wait to get started. Going to try my first smoothie in the morning. Strawberry spinach. Menu planner is a great Idea. Let you know how the smoothie taste.
I am going to try this, it looks like a very healthy drink.
