I keep kosher, so can’t have yogurt and turkey. Any suggestions for a non-dairy dressing
Hi, debcargo. Tahina would be great here. If you don’t like that, Tnuva recently came out with a fantastic soy product in a yogurt cup that they advertise as a white cheese alternative (https://www.foodis.co.il/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/tnuva-levana-soya-2_papa-razi-678×381.jpg). The plain one is excellent for sauces, and the ingredients aren’t too bad.
Hi, ssidancer. Some brands of turkey sausage are pre-cooked. We will add this to the ingredients list – thanks for the heads up.
what kind of turkey sausage doesn’t need cooking? I see no cooking of the turkey in this recipe.
and sour cream is not good, greek yogurt way better !
Hi, Diane. Noted and modified. Thanks 🙂
I love the fact that most of the ingredients are either organic or grass fed — very healthy — however, cooking food in a microwave is very unhealthy. It not only changes the molecular value of the food, it gives off radiation.
Hi, Wildwood. Any nut will do, or you can leave it out.
I am not a fan of walnuts, is there any “nut” substitute or should I just leave that ingredient out altogether?
Hi, Tews. Yes, the turkey sausage in this recipe is pre-cooked.
Is the turkey in this recipe pre-cooked? Re: dressing- note; combine the yogurt with cucumber & olives to make the dressing – see just above comments + it states: one bunch of lettuce, torn.
This may be obvious but do you make the cucumber and yogurt dressing and if so how.
I meant to say, the recipe in the download cook book is missing the lettuce but it is easy to figure it out, especially as lettuce is free, anyway.
I really enjoyed this, but I did use a bit more sausage (cooked an organic chicken sausage and chopped it) than allowed if this is divided into 8 servings. I modified for two and cooked the onions lightly.
